Students Heading out for Evening Hunt
With their pack animals left back at camp, students head out for an evening mock
hunt for elk and mule-deer. Josh Roth head instructor and owner of Hoback Peak Outfitters has a passion for hunting and thoroughly enjoys passing his know how onto his students.
Reaching a high vantage point, students learn how to glass effectively and how to scour the drainage efficiently. Once game is located they plan their hunt and learn how to stock within bow range using the terrain and thermals to the best of their advantage.
As a guide there is a lot to learn. A large part of your success will be you’re in depth knowledge of the game animals you are after, backed up by a good quality pair of binoculars.
I recommend 10×40 or 10×42 optics. No compacts here.
